Dress Up

Friday, November 30, 2012

In a world that still seems pretty dominated by pretty peplums, it's quite nice to see a frill every once in a while. This dress from Zara has many qualities that make that little black dress desirable time after time. From the long sleeves, flirty length, and faux leather, this is a dress that can work for many occasions regardless of the dress code. The way that it is being shown above, creates a more edgy look in pairing it with black patent ankle boots, while skinny-strapped stilettos may create a different look. I would pair this dress with a fabulous statement necklace and balance it out with a classic bag in a similar style as the dress.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Texas Ballerina

{Zara top, Forever 21 belt, GAP skirt, Steve Madden oxfords, and Michael Kors watch}

This past week I spent a solid few days cleaning out my mess of a closet. Tucked behind old uniform skirts and pieces that haven't fit since middle school, I found this skirt. When I bought this years ago, it was about mid-calf length. However, now that I have grown, I love how it is sort of like the length and style of a tutu, but with a more prairie feel. And, when paired with a denim button down and pink oxfords, has the perfect mix of feminine frills and a little bit of Texas.
