Dress Up Friday: Birthday Dresses

Friday, August 29, 2014

All dresses from Pixie Market

When celebrations are in order, new dresses usually follow. With my 21'st birthday tomorrow (!) today's 'Dress Up' edition is filled with plenty of options that would be ideal for all of the festivities. While nothing from this trendy shop has landed in my closet yet, it's a constant source of inspiration and always has incredible options for every occasion...birthdays included. Even though summer is ending this weekend, that little white number (1) is still on my wish list.

Hope everyone has a fabulous Labor Day weekend!

Two Thousand Thirteen

Monday, December 30, 2013

Well, 2013, it's been another year full of many firsts, fun, laughs, friends, and lots of hard work. As I attempt to pack for my trip of a lifetime in London with some of my closest friends, looking back on this past year I've chosen some of my favorite posts from this little blog of mine. Definitely one new years resolution that I plan on working particularly hard on is keeping posts regularly updated. Finding time for this space that I love is difficult, but means a lot to me, and in the end those are the best resolutions worth working towards. So, with that, hats off to you 2013 (get it--the hat in the image above--ha)! Lookin' forward to what you have in store 2014.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy new years.

Got your sequins ready? I picked up a sparkly turquoise skirt today for my festivities!

For Dad

Sunday, June 16, 2013

To the man who I can always count on for daily Starbucks photos, information for when Secretariat is on TV, and for always supporting me in all of my dreams and aspirations. You're an incredible person, father, and friend. Happy father's day, daddy. I love you.

A to Z: Glitter

Monday, October 22, 2012

While glittered garments used to be brought out for strictly holiday celebratory events, more recently they have been being incorporated into ensembles that are worn for everyday average events as a way to add pizazz. With glitters, sequins, and sparkles, aside from all-out party dresses, I love when they are applied in an unconventional manner-- a glittered skirt with a t-shirt, glittered heels with jeans, or a sweatshirt with glittered sections. Putting on something glittered, whether for a formal occasion or just for a class, is an easy way to make what you have on just a little more special than it was before.

Would you mix glittered pieces with more casual ones? Here are some of my favorite ways to add glitter to everyday outfits. Which are your favorites?

Birthday in Black

Thursday, August 23, 2012

{Dress: RACHEL Rachel Roy, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Random stores in NYC and TX, Shoes: Steve Madden, and Revlon's "Orange Flip" lipstick}

I leave to head back to Syracuse for my Sophomore year today. Though my birthday is a week from today, I celebrated last night with my family while I was still at home. This dress is great for an event or celebration. With it's sparkly skirt and ultra interesting top that sort of reminds me of a combination of a vest and suspenders, and with a skinny strap along the spine, this is a piece that really feels perfect for a special occasion. By adding a bright orange-red lip and a couple random bracelets, this otherwise all black ensemble still has a colorful aspect, as well.

Happy Hundred

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

When I checked and saw that I was at 99 posts, I remembered how when I would view other blogs, I could never imagine how each blogger would continuously come up with post after post of inspiring images and information. So, even though this is only my hundredth and most of you are reading are close friends and family members, I appreciate your tuning in from time to time to check in.

Keep staying in tune for more to come!
